Missional Governance

For Kildare Ministries, missional leadership in governance involves deep engagement in the world. It shows courage by confronting and challenging structures that sustain injustice within each ministry’s contexts.

In Kildare Ministries, we acknowledge that the actions resulting from our governance decisions are the truest indicators of our priorities and values.

Guided by our Vision, Mission and Values statement and our Living Justice Living Peace Charter, we are called to make the world a better place.

Prayer, reflection and dialogue underpin our leadership as we strive to identify and interrogate unjust social structures and implement actions to break them down.

Missional leaders find and see and hear; they know, make known and celebrate the wonder of good things that are happening in the ordinariness of our lives.

Missional leaders create conditions to support the ideals of the common good, in which the life and flourishing of those who are vulnerable are given pre-eminence. Missional leaders stand in solidarity with the vulnerable and enable subsidiarity through multi-directional and respectful engagement. This means assisting each other in navigating transparently the requirements of civil compliance and accountability in each jurisdiction.

Jesus taught, by word and example, that compassion and reconciliation would lead to justice and peace. He was calling for change with the potential of transforming the world. We, in Kildare Ministries, like our founders are entrusted with the radical spirit of Jesus’ mission for our place and time.
